Day 5: San Simeon State Beach --> Arroyo Grande

Today was pretty mellow and uneventful, especially after the last couple days. Now that we've been out of Big Sur for a while, we're passing lots of little towns. We stopped in one called Cambria this morning to blog and have pastries. The pastries were pretty good. The coffee was not. Win some, lose some. Here is Sam being very excited about a lemon meringue sea anemone.
We also stopped in this cute little town fcalled Cayucos for these apparently famous (?) brown butter cookies. Famous or not, they are good.
And then found a bike shop and a brewery in the same building in Morro Bay. What luck! Alas, the brewery was closed. At least the guy at the bike shop fixed my derailleur for 5 bucks.
And then we had lunch at Taco Temple. Or several lunches, as it turned out. Here is Sam very excited about our food for the second time in about 3 hours.
Yes, that is a burrito. No, I didn't eat it all. I was close, though.
Then, just as we were ready to finish out our easiest day of the trip so far, we started bucking a not-insignificant headwind, which persisted just about all the way to Pismo Beach. So the second half of our easy day was a little less easy than it should've been. Some luck!
Anyway, now we're staying with this AWESOME couchsurfing host named Michael in Arroyo Grande. Michael fed us pizza and beer and even had some great advice for me about marriage:
1. Just make sure you both don't want a divorce at the same time! and
2. They're all crazy, so find one who's pretty and crazy!
