Whippin' this up real quick - short on time. We're still alive mom!
Today was an easy day, but we were a little too casual, ended up biking in the dark.
Another beautiful ride along the coast, here's our drop into Santa Cruz County.
We stopped for an EPIC lunch in a tiny town called Davenport... small in size bit giant in charm!
Pat's back is cooperating but we found a few new rivals today. One would be his gooch. So we got this
Yum.
Our other rival is Pat's front tube, which popped early on... miraculously in front of a strawberry farm. So while pat wrestled with his tire, I hung out w the dopest strawberry farmer and ate like 2 dozen strawberries. We talked for 45 min, mostly about baseball.
We keep meeting these awesome folk. I had kinda forgotten about that aspect of touring, it brings us tons of joy. This is a crazy thing to do, but when you do it you developed this like collective consciousness w other folks, and I dont know, theres a powerful camaraderie that forms from the shared experience. Its kinda beautiful.
We're camping here at Sunset State Beach. You can camp all along the coast for $5 (as opposed to reserving a lot for like $52). Its an ideal feature provided by the state. Thanks California!!
We missed the sunset cus we were busy looking for food, but I heard it was LOVELY!
OK friends, bed time.

ReplyDeleteWas the strawberry farmer red-headed Tim from Coastways farm?
ReplyDeleteNot sure what it was called! But the farmer's name was Tony. Not red-headed.
